Baylón’s family is from Zamora, and this work, created over numerous trips, aspires to become a book that pays proper tribute to the Holy Week of Zamora. These are images that go beyond the clichés of ecclesiastical imagery and the iconoclasm of the processional floats; rather, they form a sequence portraying the multitude of devotees who ignite the passion and worship their beliefs naturally, without hesitation, openly, yet with the Castilian modesty that sets it apart from the more populist celebrations of other cities. Not for nothing is it the only Spanish city with a Holy Week Museum, in addition to being the city that contains the most Romanesque churches. Zamora enchants. And the Douro…
