This project I wish to undertake comprises two journeys made in 2001 and 2013, on the occasion of the Hindu religious festival Maha Kumbha Mela, which takes place every twelve years in four Indian cities simultaneously, with Allahabad being the most representative and multicultural. Three sacred rivers converge there: the Ganges, the Yamuna, and a third subterranean one, the mythical Saraswati; the meeting point, the Sangam, brings together millions of people who travel from every corner of the Indian peninsula to perform the sacred baths that will purify their souls.
